I painted this piece last summer, at the Harmony Arts Festival. At the time, as is true of now, there were other countries at war. I thought about how at the Harmony Arts Festival, there was friendliness, joy, peace, laughter, and a lot of food, art, and music. And it made me think how lucky and blessed I am to live where there is no war. It is not something I ever want to forget, that a true home is a place where there is peace.
